Washington for kids
Educational/Interpretive programs are available through the Snoqualmie Pass Visitor Center year round. Other great family and kid educational programs are available through the North Cascades Institute and Islandwood on Bainbridge Island. The National Parks system has a great (and free!) Junior Ranger program for kids (just pick up your handbook at a National Park Visitor Center!), as well as offering a number of interpretive programs at each park. Mt. Rainier offers programs throughout the summer for kids.
